She told her family about the joy the letters from them brings her, the pain of leaving them still has her sinking and her heart gently weeps, but she is happy with her decision and cannot change her destiny.

Ole, her husband, husband knows that Gro has made big sacrifices like leaving her family, her country and everything precious (like financially stable life which she was leading with her family in Norway) and came with him into unknown. That's why he loves her sincerely and deeply in countless ways and his love for Gro is not abating with the passage of time, in fact increasing day by day. It's only her husband's love which is keeping her happy at that particular time.

Though she is far from her family, she holds them close to her heart, deeply misses all of the family members and the old times she spent with them, but her husband's company keeps her feel infinitely better. She asked her family not to worry about her as her precious husband is doing everything to keep her happy.

Though in America, she is less prosperous but her husband is doing everything that's why she will not complain. But the good news is, she got all the necessities.

Life and culture in America is different from Norway.

Dro has left Norway physically, but her heart is still here it seems. She really care about her family well-being as its natural, she is far from the people who are probably most valuable in her life. So communicating each other's happiness and well-being is very important in this regard as it is the only way they both sides can feel content. But the role which Dro's husband is playing is very crucial in easing up the burden of leaving loved ones from Dro's heart. That role has been communicated in the letter which must have eased up the burden from the hearts of Dro's family members. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister and a friend. It's the right of her family members and friends to know how she feels there.

She is facing Dilemmas in form of choosing between two things that she loves most in her life. She is facing financial and other hardships in America which she never faced in Norway. But she cannot go back that's why chose to stay with her husband who she loves most and he loves her too.

Dro thinks everything is different in America from preparation of food to washing clothes. That's why she has to learn everything from the scratch.
