Introduction

Mellankamps and Bob selected and recognized the project of Hoosier Burger by focusing on the shortcomings. Mellankamps and Bob selected the project because the demand was all time high for the food of Hoosier Burger and the staff of Hoosier Burger was experiencing many problems. This high demand was creating problems of stock out which was consequently impacting the sales of the Hoosier Burger. Thus, Mellankamps and Bob identified that there is a need of new information system which will provide benefit to the areas of marketing, food preparation, inventory management and customer service (Software Engineering, n.d.). Hoosier burger's project team decided to implement point of sale system in order to enhance the performance and productivity of the Hoosier Burger. As the current systems of Hoosier burger are not efficient which are heavily affecting the business negatively; thus, new system i.e. point-of-sale system will be incorporated.

The system of point of sale will be implemented in the Hoosier Burger. The point-of-sale system is based on a computer system which records sales as well as handles payments. This system focuses on inventory control, which helps in enhancing the productivity of the business. This system includes a bar code scanner, software for the operating system and a computer. By implementing this system in the Hoosier Burger, the problems of the business will become possible to resolve (Software Engineering, n.d.).

The scope of this project is relevant to the implementation of new systems in customer ordering, management reporting system and inventory control.
