Introduction

One of the most prominent politicians and diplomats Henry Kissinger in his most famous work entitled "Diplomacy” compared the two most prominent U.S. presidents, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. The key role of these presidents in the U.S. political system makes them creator of the foreign policy of United States of America. Adding to this outstanding political ability, which undoubtedly these two presidents had, one can speak in a manner fully authorizing that Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were outstanding implementers of the vision of international politics, which was proposed by them.

Thesis Statement

The vision of Roosevelt and Wilson regarding the role of America in international politics still served as the basics of the foreign policy of the country.

Discussion and Analysis

Each president of the United States had in some way relation to the achievements and ideas of their predecessors. Both concepts of international order are radically different: thinking realistically and idealistically, which according to Edward H. Carr represent the opposite attitude towards any political problem (Chambers, 2000). Since then the United States entered the path of rapid economic development, and increased its railway lines significantly, large scale consumption of electricity and internal combustion engines began, and the oil, chemical and coal mining industry increased significantly. The first global corporate giants for steel production were incorporated in United States which further developed machinery, ships manufacturing industry. The U.S. has increased by 17 new states and by population, in 1870, amounting to about 38.5 million, increased to 76 million in 1900. This all meant that at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century United States became the world's greatest industrial and military power (Lerner & Lerner, 2006). At the same time of very rapid economic development followed by political development in the states.

United States model of other powers at that time pursued an imperial. The logic of this policy in the USA was as follows: first, to be ready to stop the growth, then denial and finally to prevent the re-emergence of European influence on the American continent. The practical realization of the assumptions was inter alia, the redemption of Alaska from Russia (1867). The presidency of William McKinley United States fought a colonial war with Spain, by which US won in 1898 Cuba, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. In summary, the U.S. international position at the turn of the century was no longer significant.

President Roosevelt from the outset led a very active foreign policy.
