Joe Bank
Joe Bank character is the story of Hurston as an adult black make who living with the black community in Florida State. This community is considered as one of Post Civil War racially homogenous town who are also known to be as race colonies. Joe started her adult life after having a job at fertilizer plant and marriage with Missie May with whom he loves a lot and lives comfortably. He has some remarkable reputation and has a strong proactive male figure that woman would prefer as a husband like him. Joe character is shown in the story as a good husband who loves Missie May a lot.
He is a poor man but hard working person and only works at the night shift while leaving her wife every night and it become unsafe as well as prone to danger. Second important this is that Joe has seems to believe that every single that that he or she takes is sees at face value. Beside from his weakness, he is considered as a good overall man and suffers terribly when he fined her wife slept with Otis Slemmons.
