Chapter 1: Introduction

Background of the Study

The economy of Palestine is war torn and remains severely affected due to different social issues. The country has been suffering from difficult phases for the past decade. The Palestine needs structural reforms in order to enhance the economic conditions. These structural reforms can be made by availing the financial assistance from the international donor agencies. The country recently received aid from Germany. The aid consisted of the immediately needed items such as food items, medicine, baby food, school materials, children's clothes and bedding. These things are included in the humanitarian aid package that is to be send to Palestine from Germany. Moreover, the aid from Germany also includes education material that will help the people of Gaza to educate their children.

Problem Statement

“The German aid to Palestine will be effective for the economic growth of the country.”

Aims & Objectives

1. The research study will provide significant information about the economic conditions of the country.

2. The information about the economic conditions will facilitate us to analyze different economic factors of Palestine.

3. The study will provide information about the financial assistance availed by the country.

4. The effects of the German aid can be analyzed on the Palestinian economy through this research study.

5. The study will provide the evaluation of the changes in the economic position of Palestine.

Significance of the Study

The significance of this research study is, it will provide valuable information about the war torn economy of Palestine. As the country has now started to make little progress, the economic development can be seen in various sectors of Palestine. Moreover, the significance of the research study can be seen as it will highlight the effects aid on the Palestinian economy.

Rationale of the Study

The rationale of the study is to analyze the importance of German aid on the economic growth of Palestine. The economic growth of the country will increase significantly if the aid is used in an orderly manner by the government authorities. The German aid will consist of food item, medicines, bedding, school material, children's clothes and baby food. The research study will also provide that the country has made progress in different sectors by making effective use of the foreign aids.
