This paper discusses the problems in the case study “The Expat dilemma”. The case has highlighted the issues of the expats. Moreover this paper purposes the solutions of the problems which are highlighted in the case study. Apart from that the reasons of this problem it has been discussed in the paper that how a business can avoid these problems in the future. Moreover the consequences are also discussed if this problem is not addressed.
Expat Dilemma basically highlighted the problems of the Expatriate. Expatriate is the person who leaves his or her home country and lives in another country. The case Expat dilemma highlights the problems that the expatriate face and the business face due to it but nonetheless it is also important for the business. Another problem that the business has to hire expats is that they are costly for the business; the company has to offer accommodation to them. Mainly the cause of the problem of the expatriate is their family, because the family of the expatriate is not ready for the unexpected change. It has been observed that the family of the expatriate experience different kind of challenges because of the difference between the expectations and the real situation of the people (Gupta & Dasari, 2012). Another problem that the people face is that they live away from their culture and their home country. When the family of the Expatriate departs for the destination country they are unaware of the destination country.
The company should ask from the family of the expatriates regarding their expectations about the destination country.
