Introduction

It would not be wrong to say that the most essential and important debates often current times are about natural resources, specifically oil and natural gasses. These fossil fuels are not only of immense importance, but they are also non renewable and once they are all used up, nothing can bring them back. It is therefore important to make the people of earth realize the importance and significance of these natural resources, in order to ensure that they are properly managed and utilized, and their alternatives are used wherever and whenever possible. The movie A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash was directed by Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack in an attempt to make the world realize the importance if these fossil fuels and to highlight the ways in which our lives would be affected after these resources have come to an end. The following paragraphs highlight the importance of these fossil fuels and also focus on the issues that are expected to arise when oil would be all used up.

A cure awakening highlights the importance of oil in the lives of human beings and also sheds light on the matters that are solely dependent on oil, including the vehicles and industries. According to the writer of the film, oil is the centre of life and all life matters, with transportation utilizing 80% of the total oil available (Gelpke and McCormack, 2006). The author also highlights the fact that with the passage of time, the supply of crude oil is fast diminishing and if the current rate of use of oil continues, the day is not far when planet earth would be totally exhausted of its crude oil resources.
