Introduction
The physical, educational and emotional growth and development of students are subjected to youth development initiatives and after school programs. Our inclinations should be towards development of programs 'to youth' and 'for youth' as a meaningful investment and productivity in the community. It will help society and educational institutions to break all the barriers for health development in a more equal and supportive society. This paper highlight an extensive literature on the impact of the academic nature of students in an after school program. It reflects the core characteristics of afterschool program and its deep rooted impact on the lives of students. The paper is divided into seven sections. Each section reflects the deeper understanding and analysis for the impact and benefits of the afterschool programs. The social and emotional climate of children develop their academic understaning of education and help them to successful participate and qualify these afterschool education programs. Discussion
The last two decades have witnessed the expansion of afterschool program with the deep conviction of parents and taxpayers. Improvement of students' academic performance, artistic and literary development, safety and health improvement, provision of care for students having working parents are prime goals for this program. The articulation of sequential, focused and explicit approach will drive to enhance personal and social skills of students (Durlak & Weissberg, 2007). This provision will help to understand the overall aspect of afterschool program on students in United States of America.
Profile of Afterschool Program
The information age deprives the success of students with the necessary academic skills with turning experiences of students during out-of-school time. Weekend, after-school and summer programs present opportunities to stimulate academic learning with positive social and recreational activities. The availability for the fulfillment of this need is not universal. Gang participation, poor school performance, drug use, and violence are consequences of the distortion. Thus, it is necessary to understand the realities, program policies and structure of after-school initiatives.
The US Department of Education has repeatedly emphasized significance of these supporting programs to enlarge the scheduling and administration of environment, curriculum and human resource in the school (US Department of Education, 2010).
