CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION
Overview of the Chapter
The chapter shall intend to lay the foundation and the first phase of the research study. With this chapter, readers and other researchers would be able to assess the meaning, importance, benefits, casualties and future outcomes that come with Refugee Communities Organizations that run and function in a country.
Background of the Research
Refugee and immigrants have been an important phenomenon and event spreading as examples across the pages of history before we know it. These days, migrations and seeking refuge is a common norm that prevails and exists on a large platform, considering the changing financial infrastructure and the economics now prevalent around us.
Several reasons have been identified as to what are the factors and reasons that people migrate; it could be due to personal security, financial stability, better job opportunities or moving to a better area or place where an individual could utilize the skills and traits and earn themselves a living.
For this purpose, entire communities and organizations have been established, in order for these widespread entities to identify the usability of the immigrations and refugees that come into a particular country and at the same time would actually make way for revitalizing the standard of living for this people in their very own country.
Problem Statement
The problem statement for this research study undertaken would be 'highlighting and identifying the current state of Refugee Communities Organizations (RCO's) in London.'
Research Aim
The research aim undertaken for establishing and identifying the purpose of this research undertaken would be to assess the current condition and situation of refugee communities organization that are servicing immigrants based in London. Not only this, it would also make way for highlighting the successes and failures of such organizations and how to cope with them.
Research Objectives
With the research objectives identified, the following research objectives have been identified:
To identify the factors that drive and enabled RCO's to develop and grow and survive;
To explore the impact of changes in government policy: refugee, asylum and immigration legislation and the current economic environment (Austerity Measures) that contributed to RCO's eventual decline and death; and
To investigate what the future holds for RCO's in an ever increasingly difficult period.
With the research objectives above, it would aid the compilation and timely completion of the study and yielding constructive hypothesis in order for us to prove them accordingly.
Research Questions
With the research objectives identified, the following research questions have surfaced:
