Introduction

Capital punishment or death penalty is action that must receive execution order from the government because the person has proved to be guilty of committing serious crime. The nature of the crime has to be serious and must have brought some serious physical damage to the other person in the society. One receives death penalty under extremely grave circumstances. In many of the countries, the death penalty has been converted into 'death sentences' without parole. The aim of this research paper is to evaluate the corrections taken in the recent years that tend to detach the verdict of Capital Punishment already announced many years ago. This paper will also evaluate the impact of death penalty on the potential of crime deterrence. The deaths are in practice and corrective action impose the re-opening of the cases and starts the process once again to remove the verdict under unfair or misjudgment. It has been observed that there are huge arguments that are present on the subject of death penalty, but the concept of corrections with respect to death penalty is very important to be recognized. However, as for today there are other source of judicial implications to restore justice like Restorative Justice helps the criminals and the society removing the harsh capital punishments (Banner, pp. 82-94).

Discussion

In most of the countries people have started protesting against the implications Capital Punishment. There is never ending debate for the purpose that almost divides the communities and societies. The current modern judgmental insinuation implies several questions on the verdicts passed in the past. The cases when reopened and discussed found to have wrong verdict which weakens the potential of this grave punishment. The concerning societies are worried since the life of deceased can never be brought back. This spread uncertainty in the society and raises the question on the role of judiciary system. Although the death penalty is less used today, the correctives are still in practice. The new era advocates establish their thorough research and file for the case to re-open. It brings the rapport of quite famous jury members into suspicion (Pojman, pp. 222-240).

The graph explains the rate of crime taking place since 1960 and the trend shows that it remained extremely low in 60s but reached at peak in 90s. However, after that it began to decline which satisfactory. In the same context, population has also increased with the decline of crime rate.
