Grief is an Emotion

Grief is the natural traumatic response over the loss of a loved one. This reaction emerges when the person suffers with the emotional feeling that their loved one is taken away. According to the contemporary American funeral, the grief is an emotion which can be sensed due to the love and attachment of the bereaved person with the deceased person. It can also be said that if the person does not get bereave upon the death of the other person then it reflects that there was no association and emotional affection with the departed person (Leming and Dickinson, 2012).

As per the article, Enrich Lindemann explained the concept of symptomatology of grief in his original work. according to Lindemann (1944), the common symptoms grief are the sensation of somatic distress waves that occur to about an hour at a time, shortness of breath, mental pain, excessive tension, depression, fatigue, exhaustion, no appetite, irritability, anger, absence of warmth from other relations, restlessness, lack of zest, and shock. The bereaved person experiences the state of denial where he is unable to accept the reality.
