Writing this thesis has been very demanding, challenging and time-consuming, but also remarkable, informative and above all fun. Nevertheless, it feels great to have finally completed my bachelor's or master's thesis and I am now looking forward to a nice relaxing period for recovering. It has been both advantages and drawbacks with the limited amount of earlier research conducted within this area, even though I faced serious troubles but sometimes the advantages of this research luckily were in my favor and have made this research both challenging and interesting.

Abstract

The British pubs and bars have taken a hammering in recent times. The British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) reported that as many as 52 pubs were closing each week. In this study it has been analyzed that what r the reasons that are leading the pub industry towards such accelerated decline in numbers of pubs in London. We considered many factors like smoking bans, price, customer taste and preference, social and economic factors to evaluate their impact of decline in the numbers pubs in Britain. We found that licensing act 2003 along with other social and economic factors cause this fast pace decline. Quasi-experimental approach and chronological approach is used to study the impact.
