Introduction

Toni Morrison was born Chloe Anthony Wofford in 1931 in Lorain, Ohio. Her mother's family had arrived to Ohio from Alabama by Kentucky, and her dad had migrated from Georgia. Morrison increased up with a love of publications and obtained her undergraduate stage from Howard University. She obtained a master's stage from Cornell University, accomplishing a thesis on William Faulkner and Virginia Woolf. Afterward, she educated at Texas Southern University and then at Howard, in Washington, D.C., where she contacted Harold Morrison, an architect from Jamaica. The wedding ceremony continued six years, and Morrison provided birth to two sons. She and her married man separated while she was with child with her second child, and she returned to Lorain to give birth. She then shifted to New York and became a reviewer at Random House, focusing in very dark fiction. During this tough and rather lonesome time, she started employed on her first innovative, The Bluest Eye, which was released in 1970(James 1997 555).

She bears his progeny, who passes away soon after birth. Because Pecola, like Pauline, craves to be glimpsed as attractive, she longs for the azure eyes of the most adored progeny in the 1940s: Shirley Temple. After travelling to Soaphead Church, a "spiritualist" who assertions he can make Pecola's eyes azure, Pecola accepts as factual that she has the bluest eyes in the world and now every individual will love her. Clearly, Pecola is the truest kind of victim. Unlike Claudia, who possesses the love of her family, Pecola is powerless to decline the unachievable standards esteemed by those round her and eventually descends into insanity. The Bluest Eye depicts the tragedy that outcomes when African Americans have no assets with which to battle the measures offered to them by the white heritage that scorns them.
