Abstract
In this study we try to explore the art of Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on both the artists and their artistic relevancy with each other. The research also analyzes many aspects of the artists including their biography and tries to gauge its effect on their art.

Vincent Van Gogh
Born in Groot Zundert, a village near Breda in the Netherlands in March 1853. His father, from 1849, he was pastor there. Vincent had five siblings: Anna, Theo, Elisabeth, Wilhelmien and Cornelis. The family home he spent the first 16 years of his life before he moved to The Hague, where he worked in the gallery art dealers Goupil & Co. ..
