Battle of Alamo

On March 6, 1836 the battle of Alamo was fought between the Mexican army and the rebellious Texans. The Alamo was a fortified old mission and it is situated in the center of the Town of San Antonio. Alamo was strongly defended by almost 200 Texian defenders led by William Travis ( Lemann, 2004). The Mexican troops initiated an assault on the Alamo Mission (modern day San Antonio, Texas, USA) under the leadership of President General Antonio in which all the Texian defenders were killed.
