Abstract

The fact of terrorism is not new. It has existed since the beginning of the human civilization. There is no proper definition of the term but its dimensions are diverse and complex. There is a host of factors influencing the belief of terrorism. They are all inter, thus we cannot decide why people eventually engage in terrorist acts. Terrorism can be loosely defined as the use of illegal and unfair means to powerfully implement the principles at will. Contemporary terrorism generally has several expected elements: It is egregious violence, perpetrated against innocents, for a political agenda. Furthermore, contemporary terrorism is typically staged before an audience for maximum multiplication of psychological effect.

Introduction

Terrorism can be loosely defined as the use of illegal and unfair means to implement the principles at will, thus subjugating the affected to agree to them despite their inappropriateness. Most of the historians hold the point of view that terrorism is essentially a political phenomenon. The ongoing killing in the Middle East and Kashmir testify to the political nature of terrorism (Marrin, 2003).

The most important feature of the religious terrorism is a distinct social dimension. All the religious and radical movements and organizations advocate for social justice, for social equality. Thus, they create appeal among religious illiterates and unemployed populations.

Thesis Statement

After 9/11, U.S. senate approved a bill which launches an outline for the analysis of overseas possessions of United States resources by the “Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)”. Further in general, the bill institutes added inflexible regulations for the assessment and recognized examination of dealings, particularly those occupying overseas administrations or serious communications possessions.

Research Methodology

The data collected for this research was mainly secondary data from the material published online. Since the research pertains to military/government information and data, it would be next to impossible to collect first-hand military intelligence which is why the research, reviews and economic data posted online has been used to derive a conclusion.
