After reviewing the Ten Guidelines of Observation (p, 77) and Observation Formats (Chapter 3) and based on your own experiences briefly explain why you feel there are so many elements and formats.
There is thinking that one can be effective in teaching which is in reach of all academics. To make it even high, it requires effort, patient, time and organization. Observation techniques are highly significant to assess the student's performance. The main purpose of observation is to engage teachers in insightful thinking. It is like a mirror which demonstrates that teaching staff should overlook their teaching and instructional behavior. There are so many formats and techniques are to avoid the biases. During teaching, there are so many things that occur at a time. It is impossible to analyze and overlook all these things. Some students are receptive and find it easy to understand the purpose of activities. Some of them will surely find it less attractive, motivating or challenging and others would have little interest so they will probably pay minimal attention in the class room. At the same moment, the observer or the teacher may realize that the some students have been unproductive during the class. It is also not observable that students engage in talking with each other after completion of a lesson or activity whether this action indicate the interest or confusion and nervousness of the students. Observation must be clarified in order to understand and observe these activities (Sullivan & Glanz, 2004).
