"Tele-health care" could be one way to heal growing ranks of asthma sufferers' global, decreasing time and cost of care for these patients and perhaps making remedy more accessible to the wider number of persons, said University of Edinburgh investigator Susannah McLean and colleagues.

The researchers analyzed 21 investigations in which asthma patients interacted with health care employees by phone, videoconferencing, Internet, text notes or the blend of technologies. In most situations, patients started their care with the face-to-face visit.
