Introduction

Information technology has enhanced the organizational processes. Organizations are progressing towards the automated approach to increase the process efficiency. The suggested model in the report is a proposal for a networking model for a dental organization which has recently merged their network. The previous network was just an indoor model, but now the firm has also incorporated the mobile approach. The network solution will identify the key requirements and the methodologies to be used, along with the components, devices and desired equipment. This will require a complete model with different deliverables to ultimately meet the aim of the organization. There is also a discussion about the benefits incurred from the system.

Analysis

The case is about a dental firm which is focusing on establishing a new and modified structure including the mobile approach. The human resource included 6 people who after the merger have expanded to 32. Among the human resource four of the dentists will be working on the mobile services. The system will firstly require an information system that will synchronize all the information desired and to be shared among the human resource of the firm and patients. A dedicated team will be required to serve the information technology domain. It will comprise of some technology specialists, who will deal with the development of the information system and networking model, along with the management of databases. The project will require certain funding to cope up with the latest technology and later on for the maintenance of the networking model. Some of the enlisted requirements for the system are:

A critical aspect in the domain of information technology is that whenever a system is being implemented it needs to assure the security of data. These things have given birth to the concepts of 'data theft', 'data security', etc. In this case, the information that is aimed to be protected is regarding the patients. The data will flow as transactions among the doctors who will send and receive the latest history of the patients, as they will be providing mobile services. The company needs to ensure that the confidential data about the patients is not exposed to unnecessary resources. The organization must ensure to implement some security protocols that protect the critical data. This data can be an asset for the organization as by losing the data the firm may lose patients. Talking on a rational base, the information systems have a better methodology to ensure data protection.

Security in the dental environment will be a major concern. The personal health information needs to be protected rather than being wasted or exposed. The company will need a properly structured approach rather than a haphazard one ...
