Telecommunication

Introduction

There have been conducted various studies in the past that takes into account information about the Haitin Telecommunication Industry. The telecommunication industry has a competitive advantage as it is considered to be one of the most emerging industries in the world. The industry of the Haitin Telecommunication has competitive environment. The telecommunication industry is in constant competition as the rate of new emerging products, service bundles and new entrants is very fast. The companies have to be innovative so that they can remain competitive in every way within the industry. The theory of competitive advantage is the central focus of this dissertation. Therefore, it is important to review the literature relating to the competitive advantage (Nelson & Todd, 2005, pp. 199).

Discussion

Ans1- In the first case, there is a need to imagine that I'm a Chris Taylor and responsible for Tropical Telecom in Haiti. Each member in my time are required to adopt a different management function. I need to explain the way I would manage the Tropical Telecom in Haiti in the first four months after the occurrence of earthquake. Chris recognized a pan- Haitin, high-capacity integrated (wireless and wire line) and convergent (voice, data and video) digital network. Vodafone Essar was formerly Hutchison Essar until the UK-based Vodafone bought a controlling stake in 2007. All three companies had aggressive expansion plans, offering cheaper services to the fast growing Haitin market. They even tried to target overseas growth (in September 2010 Bharti announced plans to invest US$600m in Nigeria's mobile-phone market, for example). They also seeked to capitalize on the rural market, where the potential for growth far exceeds saturated urban markets. The three main private-sector companies competed with the state-owned BSNL for the top spot in the mobile market. BSNL has managed to build a broad subscriber base, owing to the reach of its network and its low-cost pricing plans (Choudary, 2001,p. 7).

However, like public companies in other sectors, BSNL has found it difficult to compete against the more dynamic private-sector firms, and has been steadily losing market share. In September Bharti announced that it had become Haiti's first telecommunications operator to receive a license from the central Bank of Haiti called as RBI, to provide mobile wallet services, although the RBI will soon hand out such licenses to other operators. This creates mobile money payments as a new category and is expected to lead to growth in both mobile (m)-commerce and financial services. The above evidences from a range of academic researches indicate that there are still some gaps that need to be filled by means of the academic research. There is a wide room for the academic institutions, to conduct a detailed research on the telecommunication sector, as it is the sector that continuously changes along with the passage of time, and therefore, it needs to be assessed on a continuous basis through the academic research (Chen and Miike, 2003, p.132).

However, it is time to bring the Internet revolution to our rural communities and I ...
