Introduction

The issue of teenage pregnancy is a growing concern of public health worldwide. Due to several risk factors such as growing rate of poverty, lack of support from family and community, use of drugs and alcohol and other such factors contribute to getting a teenager involved in unhealthy lifestyle. Efforts are needed to be taken by health professional to prevent teenagers from becoming pregnant.

The population selected for investigation purpose is the teenagers of the United States. The key issues and risk factors which have an impact on the well-being and health of vulnerable teams are (Chen et.al, 2013):

Growing up in poverty

Having low performance in school

Lack of Family and Community Support

Lack of feeling connected to family, school, and community

Use of drugs and alcohol

Lack of health education

Limited knowledge about sexuality and sex
