In this work, an attempt has been made to evaluate the domain of information management from the perspective of an organization. The aspects like how the organizations are making use of social media for the purpose of improving their performance, how they tend to learn from their past and present experiences, how they acquire useful knowledge and how they manage information are discussed in this work. The specific organization that is discussed in detail is Intel, the world's largest manufacturer of semiconductor chips and computer components. It is expected that this work would provide significant knowledge of the topic and the key aspects discussed.

In the recent past, things have changed quite significantly and at a rapid pace. Almost all the aspects of life have influenced from this change. One of the key drivers that have contributed significantly to the introduction of such changes in the society is the internet. Internet is the technology that has reduced the significance of the word distance by its features. People who are physically thousands of miles away from each other can now communicate with each other instantly. Moreover, they can not only hear each other, but see as well. As a result, the word distance has lost its meanings. Before the advent of internet, communicating at such distances had not been this convenient and simple. People had to pay big amounts just to make international calls to their dear ones.

Discussion

The popularity of the internet continued to increase with the passage of time and the areas of its applications also continued to grow. One of these areas of the application of internet is online purchasing. Through this, people can shop online from the convenience of their home and the things are delivered to their home. The internet kept on growing further until another domain named social media developed. Social media is the application of internet that provides the people with the means to interact with each other (Curtis et.al, 2010, pp. 90-92). Moreover, it provides them the ability to share, create and exchange ideas, knowledge and information over the networks. As time is progressing, the number of users who use social media is one the up. Now people can share their ideas and expressions with their close ones through just a few clicks.

Social media has changed different areas of life. It has become very popular in the recent past and as a result, people have adapted many changes in their lifestyle due to it. The behavior of the consumers who consume products/services of a company has changed with time. Now the people desire that they are informed by the company regarding their product/service. They just want to be valued by the vendor.
