Introduction

This paper will be analyzing the case of Surf Shoppe research team and the data they have to be accessed by main MegaCorp SAN. An integrating information system is to be designed and plan that fits the requirements of MegaCorp SAN.

Discussion Analysis

For the design of information system we have two choices:

Single highly protected server

Private Cloud Concept

In order to justify which one is better we will be discussing the advantages and disadvantages of these two information system (Bitpipe, 2012).

Advantages of Single highly protected server

The key advantage of this service is cost. Compare to all services available in the market this type is the less expensive one. Reason is a common server shared by more than one web site. So the cost for maintaining the server also shared by websites (Beckham, 2011). This will be charged nearly 10 dollar per month. Another important advantage with the shared services is the provider is the responsible for maintaining the server.

Disadvantages Single Highly Protected Server

The major problem with shared type is a common resource shared by number of web sites. Due to this problem there will be a traffic and data loss. Over traffic reduces your web site visitors. This will be a major problem for your business (Bloomberg, 2012). The data transferring speed also will be low. This leads your web site for poor performance. And more over the security of your web site will not be an effective one. Security is an essential concept for web sites (Buecker & Lodewijkx, 2009).

Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Private Cloud

The private cloud enables this next-level of IT service, using identity management and advanced systems management tools to enable IT pros and even end users to build up, maintain and tear down resources that before would have required lengthy IT intervention (Ernst &Young , 2011). Take the case of a developer looking to test a new software product. Previously, she'd have to ring up IT and request a server be built to her testing specifications. Wait two weeks for IT to approve the request and someone might then get around to giving her a machine. Meanwhile, her testing process is in limbo. In a private cloud, she'll be able to log into a self-service portal, build her own virtual server decked out just the way she needs it, test till her head turns blue and then tear the whole thing down in the end. To the IT manager, this whole transaction will simply take place in his event and audit logs (Gartner, 2012).

The cloud will evolve, too. From a private cloud foundation, you'll quickly expand to applications and workloads that span across on-premises and off-premises infrastructure.
