X-ray is a type of electromagnetic radiation, with a wavelength ranging from 0.01 to 10 nanometres. The wavelength of X-rays is smaller than that of ultra violet rays and is greater than the gamma rays. X-ray is called Rontgen radiation, after its pioneer, Wilhelm Rontgen, who called it as X-radiation to indicate an unknown type of radiation (Beutel et. al., 2000).
