Introduction

During the previous century and now which we are living in, human beings have been major players in the different stages that lead us to speak of a society in which technology and computers have become important and vital to our current lifestyle. In this paper we are going to discuss and describe what is so revolutionary about computer and technology along with its impact on society. In end we shall discuss how computer fit into the historiography of technology. The purpose of this paper is to let readers know about the importance and development and impact on human beings and their lives.

Computer Revolution

If, I were a book of history from 1981 to 1996, I would have put computer on its cover because we did not have computer, our life would have very difficult. Man's need to find fast and effective methods to solve the math and his great inventiveness led him through the centuries to the development of what we now know as the computer. In past 15 years, computer has evolved rapidly. The technological horizon of the entire world is dominated by computer since 1970 and currently, it has entered into Human's every sphere. The development of computer is so revolutionary because it has entirely changed the lives of human. The factors that have made possible the development and application of computer are: microelectronics, advances in telecommunications and software development applications and easy communication. The revolution has been taking place in US and all around the world for last 50 years.

Initially computer was used to make mathematical calculations and generate related type of documents. Later Apple computer simplified it and that system was called BASIC which was the major development of computer industry. The revolution of computer has changed the way people think and live. From the abacus to personal computers these have had a major influence on different aspects of life, improving our quality of life and opening doors that were previously unknown to mankind. In short we can say that computing changed the entire worlds at the neck breaking pace which was the most significant revolutionary thing.
