The Impact of Touch Screen and its use in Smartphones

Introduction

Touchscreen used in smartphones consists of three major components. These are a touch sensor, controller and software driver. Since, touchscreens are the input devices in smartphones they have to be supported with appropriate hardware. There should be some form of display or any other device that completes the system (Krueger, 2000, p. 97). In other words, a touchscreen can be understood as a controlled electronic display. The mode of input is generally the fingers. However, there are other touchscreens that accept responses even from hands covered in gloves and stylus. The touchscreen can be zoomed in and out as per the choice of the user. In this technology, there are no intermediate devices between the display and the user in that there is no need for a mouse or touchpad or stylus (GPEG, 2012, p. 5).

The discovery and invention of touch screens have made a huge revolution on human life in the 20th century. The paper discusses the different forms of touch screens used for personal and commercial purposes and each has a different impact on way of life. In most cases, the advent of touch screen has made the use of electronic items easy. It has become more fun and entails joy of reaction with the solid instruments.

Aims

The touch screen kits are nothing short of revolution. Research on the impact of touch screen on human life in the current decade reveals that there has been a huge impact of technology and is multidimensional. This impact is likely to become all the more prominent in future. Hence, the objective of this research are given hereunder.

To develop an understanding of the touch screen technology

To develop an understanding of how touchsreen technology works in a smartphone that is the process involved.

To study its impact on human life.

To research the way it has improved the quality of life, and investigate the possible disadvantaged associated with the cutting edge technology.

Objectives

The overall objective of this research is to study, analyse the structure and main working theory of touchscreens. The specific objects are to evaluate the change in world technology and the impact of the touchscreen kits in people lives since their discovery (Brooker, 2012, p. 1).

As a researcher, I will investigate on the working of the technology, its advantages and disadvantages and conduct a comprehensive literature review on the impact the technology has on human life.
