Push the Envelope

Pushing the envelope is a term which is used as a jargon in the business culture. Its meaning is to go outside normal boundaries to achieve a target or goal, for example, exceeding specifications and to try to go beyond the pre-specified boundaries of performance. The term means to create, or go beyond commonly accepted limits. The term is not in common use of the lay people; however, it is generally used in the workplace of the twenty first century.
