Teaching plan for Patients with PTSD

 

The goal of the following teaching plan is based on the following experience (Healthy People 2020 goal statement):

To educate patients on how to handle, cope and treat their medical conditions of PTSD, commonly known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Healthy People 2020). The reason for this set of instructions is to guide the patient during their treatment process associated with their condition of PTSD. This guidance process will eventually improve the mental health conditions of the concerned patients. This process of betterment for the patient would occur in the avenues of their ability, understanding and capacity to handle the effects of PTSD.

 

 

Individual centered behavioral objectives:

1. Patients would be given realization with regards to which of the three kinds of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) they are suffering from

2. Develop focus in patients to cope with PTSD through making important lifestyle choices. Thus to take control of their own lives

3. Patients should be made aware of the importance of family or friends involvement in treatment of PTSD. Moreover, strategies and different means would be thought to patients to handle PTSD while leveraging help and considerations of their family and friends 

4. Make aware patients with regards to why some of these Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) suffering patients, which includes veterans, resort to certain practices that try and develop each case with an effort to minimize the problem, dealing with cases specifically

5. Patients and PTSD should be able to realize that their lies other opportunities regarding work diversified activities or extra evidence if they have not been able to make good performance in regular life decisions and tasks
