The teacher tenure is also called as career status and it is the method for providing job security to the teachers who tend to have completed their probationary periods in the school successfully. The aim of the teacher tenure is to protect and secure the outstanding and qualified teachers from being fired on the basis of factors that might affect the teaching profession. The factors that might affect them and lead them towards firing include non educational concerns which are being protected through the teacher tenure process. The need for teacher tenure is due to the presence of some power hungry school board members or advocates who create some kind of conflicts in the personality of the teachers and themselves and usually it is held with specific teachers. Sometimes teachers are being fired from educational institutions on the basis of non educational issues such as personal or religious beliefs of the teachers which is seen from the perspective of discrimination and teachers are fired for the reason (Steve F. et al., 2003).

Sometimes there is a presence of personality conflict among the cultures of the schools or educational institution and the personality of the teacher which creates a conflict between the teachers and the school board members or administrators. In this way, the teachers are being fired despite of the exceptional career skills proved by them and the services provided by the teacher for the betterment of the educational institute and the development of the students. The laws associated with the teacher tenure method differ from state to state but the theme and purpose of the teacher tenure concept is same all across the country.
