Introduction

Teaching in the field of medical technology is my passion, and this portfolio presents my complete information about my devotion for this field and passion to teach students. This portfolio provides my teaching philosophy and how I will integrate my teaching philosophy into the results of some of my self-assessments. This portfolio also highlights my views about the role of a teacher, my teaching style and how I will incorporate a variety of learning styles. This portfolio clearly reflects my goals and objectives. It also highlights how I will plan lesson content, delivery of the lesson, and assessment of students' performance. This portfolio also contains an example of how I will plan my lesson and its outcomes. It contains activities and my reflection on how these activities illustrate my teaching. At the end, there is my future forward plan as a teacher.

Teaching Philosophy

Teaching is one of the noblest professions, it not only a process to make others a respectable and responsible citizen, but it is a process of continuous learning, “Teaching profession is a building block for all other professions. The quality of teaching shapes the future of students and prepares them to be a responsible citizen” (Planning Commission, India 2005). The more a person teaches more he or she will learn. Another important factors associated with teaching is that it involves learning, research, and seeking answers for the questions. Field of medicine and technology requires a teacher or an educator to be more willing, to experiment new methodologies, to teach his or her students. This paves new ways for a medical technologist to be updated in this field as it require a teacher to be updated so that he or she can update their students according to the latest advancements and technological changes, in order to serve humanity in a better way with the key of perfection in this field. Thus, as a medical technologist, I consider that it is one of the major responsibilities of a teacher in this field. This is what I recognized when I was a student.

There are many teachers, some are very helpful, and they are always willing to assist their students whenever they need. On the other hand, there are many teachers, who cannot guide and assist students according to their needs and expectations. Effective communication and understanding is very essential in the field of education, and it is very important in the fields like medicine technology (Webb, 2011). One major reason is that life of many people depends on the research and success of medical technologist. Thus, mentor or a teacher plays an important role to guide and assist a student to become most efficient and successful person in their respective fields.
