Introduction
Hospitality Sector is a billion dollar market that mainly depends upon the accessibility of relaxation time and non-refundable earnings. It is the most diverse and specialized sector in the UK. It is considered to be one of the leading sectors that employ millions of people in a diverse range of jobs across the globe (Trends and Statistics, 2008). Sector vary from attractive resorts to less trendy, but perhaps more specialized areas like banqueting and conference services, industrial designs, schools and colleges. Yet of these many diverse sectors, conference and banqueting appears most challenging and demanding. Regardless of the size and scope of this sector, varieties of endless opportunities lie in this industry. The sky is the only limit with conference and banqueting sector. This paper will present a comprehensive analysis on the conference and banqueting sector in the UK and address influences that have shape the industry.

Size and Scope of Conference and Banqueting Sector
Conference and Banqueting Sector is considered to be the leading and fastest growing sectors across the UK. There are just around 46,000 hotels and resorts across the country that serves the conference and banquet needs of diverse population living in the UK (Trends Survey, 2011). The sector is quite attractive to attract foreign clients and tourists to avail the benefits that it provides. It remains a significant market to boost the UK economy, with the yearly turnover of about £40billion (Trends & Statistics, 2008).The sector is comprised of around 127,000 properties and employs around 1.6 million people (Trends & Statistics, 2008). It is extremely large in size and diversified in its range. Being the third leading sector, Conference and Banqueting Sector, generates employment in the country.
The scope of the industry is quite big. There are different business sectors like hotels, clubs, resorts, restaurants, takeaways, pubs etc while the welfare sector like academic institutes, halls of residences, old age houses and etc (figure 1). Many foreign clients and tourists are coming to the UK ever year as the London is the famous city across the world. One can find many big hotels in the state to provide accommodation to large number of tourists. Thus, large number of workforce is needed to manage such big industry that develops UK economy (Trends and Statistics, 2008).
