What is becoming apparent in today's educational environment and as global leaders in education and technology, administrators of universities must understand that the external environment is the most powerful source of internal change. Institutions of higher education should be able to offer methods of online learning programs to ensure greater student success in personal instruction and online accessibility. The external factors includes (marketing trends, competition and changing of government policies), in addition to the internal factors which are student preferences, and faculty and staff capabilities. In essences higher education, is like all other organizations, at the brink of reformation. Key Words: Leadership, shared vision, cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Introduction
As the director of an adult and continuing program the combination of a growing demand for learning and technical applications are creating competitors and a new way for learners to learn and harder for the institution to compete for students and retain them. One of the many challenges of my job is creating programs and curriculums for returning students after years of employment in addition to Maslow's conceptualizations of motivation, self-actualization and synergy. This theory forms the basis of the need for self-actualization in addition to the level of need, which pertains to the full potential of the person and that person being able to realize that potential (Cronbach, 2007).
Evolution Scalable learning Management Systems
A learning management system (LMS) or learning support system (LSS) is a software system developed for web accompanies any person involved in a learning process in their management of learning paths. The services usually include access control, communication tools (synchronous and / or asynchronous) and administration of user groups. In French, there are the names: platform for online learning management system learning, virtual training center, and platform e-learning (ODL) and, particularly in Quebec, digital learning environment (ENA). The computer system set up the server side is called CMS (content management system) or an ENT (digital workspace). Features can be combined according to their specifications. This is one component of a training online using the information technology and communication (ICT) (Auerbach, 2002).
Most of these systems also generators of internal testing of assessment found in the form of MCQs, QCU, true / false, cloze, matching. These activities are either subject to validation by the teacher is proposed as regulatory activities in self-evaluation. Generally, they are integrated as teaching resources in a learning pathway within the platform. If it is compatible with standard SCORM, the results of these assessment activities are then considered in the management of the learning path of the student.
To simplify the integration of resources and the flow of information to the platform, it is strongly recommended to use a platform according to the recommendations of existing standards such as LOM, or conforming to the standard SCORM which is being generalization (Costa, 2004). Virtually all learning management systems are web based. To use both as a course author and as a student is an Internet connection and is a normal web browser such as Internet ...
