System and operation management is basically responsible for monitoring the design, controlling and production of goods and services of any organization. It is also responsible for efficiently using few resources and also meeting customer demands. It assist in converting the inputs (materials, labor and energy) into desirable output (goods or services).system and operation management is responsible for managing and controlling the technical and non technical departments of the organization. Atokowa is manufacturer of office stationeries and supplies and is one of the largest industries in Australia. It distributes a wide range of stationeries and office supplies to individuals and organizations.thy own various outlets and also do customized printing for individual and organizations. Atokowa also prints brochures, cards, letter heads and memo slips and fax headers for organizations.

Atokowa markets two basic customers which includes the individual consumer and the business organizations. Over the years, Atokowa has become the one of the leading high quality printing company. Atokowa have their retail outlets almost in the entire region in Australia. With the passage of time, Atokowa also started to sell technology products due to its high demand. (Rourkes,1988, pp. 119).

Atokowa has their retail outlets almost in entire region in Australia. Initially, these retail outlets were managed with their individual paper based stock system. It was very important that these systems were accurate, as each store manager had to re order stock from the Melbourne warehouse. This system was not successful, as employees everyday had to count the entire stock every quarter. Therefore, Paul, who was one of the store managers, suggested using an integrated electronic point of sale system. This system would track each stock with a bar code. After the suggestion, Paul was called to the Melbourne warehouse for the implementation of the database application. With the help of this system, every retail outlet was connected with remote computer and which enabled the store managers to c heck out the stocks on the EPOS. Therefore, every transaction that was taken was processed through the system (Abeck & Neumair, 1998, pp. 33).
