Introduction

Religion holds central importance in life of human beings and it is due to the same reason that it holds special and central importance defining the behavior and code of conduct of various individuals. It should be noted that religion is closely related to all the aspects of social life of individuals, specially the culture, norms and values prevailing in the society, combined with the pattern of interaction and the methods of interaction of individuals. It should be noted that the communities and societies with vast diversity of culture and social groups are generally different from the ones with more homogenous social structure and have their own benefits as well as drawbacks. The following paragraphs would present a synoptic overview of the various cultures and religions living together in one community, mainly highlighting the interrelation between the Jewish, Asians, Indians and the Muslims.

The religious diversity

It is eminent to understand the fact that cultures are evolved with the passage of time, after being influenced by the differences and similarities in the various religious groups present in the area and their pattern of interaction. A number of religions values are gradually inculcated in the culture, and thus the same plays an essential role in determining the values and norms prevailing in the society and the cultural values practiced and adopted by them (Scupin, 2008). For instance, Judaism is mainly about family life and community building, and thus the spirit of working in combined and united environment, combined with the need for remaining in touch with other members of the community is present in Jews, thus making them socially active and vigorous. It is due to the same reason that the Jews are always at the front line while making various community plans and organization events as well as community level activities.

Moreover, it has been noticed that the religious beliefs of Jews are quite strong and they intend to link each and every activity to their religion. It is mainly due to the strong affinity of the cultural group with their religion and the strong beliefs that they are chosen people of God, sent on earth to take hold of management and set things right. Similarly, Muslims are socially active and intend to ensure unity and harmony in the society, also taking part in the social activities, especially the religious events and occasions. It is eminent to mention here that out of all the members of the community, Muslims are the most tolerant and open group, ready to accept all the changes and easily mingling with all the other groups. The forbearance and tolerance does not only allow them to be good judges in case of conflicts but at the same time, they preach lesson regarding accord and the benefits of harmony in the society, which assist in maintaining better social environment.
