South City medical center is the profitable health care organization. The center offers extensive health care services. This center specializes in trauma. They excel in pulmonary services, and their service includes acute, residential, independent living, in-home nursing, hospice, and maternal-child and advanced cardiac services. The center enjoys well reputation in healthcare business and satisfies customers. There are some major changes occurred in the organization within last three years. The patient care mix changed. The demographics and other city situations have been changed. The organization stands on the place where managerial policies should be made, and decisions should take place.



Revival of Strategic Mission of the Organization

Being CEO, it becomes significant to comprehend the changes and transformation in business. As in the case of South Medical Center, several changes have come across in the business. City situations, business moving to other cities, population getting older, and JCAHO standards have issues for past some time. The following chunk of problems becomes an immense challenge for the organization.

The organization should consider changing the strategic missions. Remaining in the core values and mission organization should alter some characteristics and create managerial policy according to it (Buchbinder, Shanks, 2007). The core Mission and Values of the organization should remains same but, the changes that have occurred in past three years will be highlighted and according to that strategic planning will be done. Goals, objectives, and target should be reset. The Organization should analyze business market and trend, target customer and vision. The organization should point towards the changes happened in past three years.



Issues Confronting Community South Medical Center

The issues related to South Medical Center are not minor. The happening and changes have affected business directly and indirectly. The concern is about the clinical staff and quality standards that cannot be ignored. These issues can damage the organization's reputation and profit. Changes in demographics and geographic situations highlight the problem that might happen in the near future (Walshe, 2006). The organization should be pro-active rather than re-active. Handling problem earlier would be easy and controllable but, in South Medical center's situation, it does not seem initial situation. The changes are occurring from past three years. Being CEO, these issues should be addressed, and policies/procedures should be made to overcome this issue.
