Swine flu or flu pandemic was influenza pandemic that affected the people in 2009, it was the second in the two pandemics including H1N1 influenza virus that was the 1918 flu pandemic. The virus was firstly appeared as a new strain of H1N1 that evolved in the same way as the previous triple re-assortment of bird, human and swine flu. That virus merged itself with Eurasian pig flu virus and became swine flu. This virus did not infected adults older than 60 years, which was a shocking feature of H1N1 pandemic. In this flue people can develop difficulty in breathing and it occurs after 3 to 6 days after the virus has activated itself in the human body. An individual can get attack of pneumonia by this flu and this virus can be transmitted from one individual to another. It was thought that by eating port of products made from pork was the main source behind the spread of swine flu but after an extensive research it was proved that it does not have any link with it. This virus was spreading and transmitting through respiratory droplets from an individual to another. Antivirals such as Zanamivir and Oseltamivir were highly recommended by the doctors for those who were severely affected by this virus.
Discussion
The virus H1N1 spread in the same way as the seasonal flue spreads. Sneezing, coughing, talking and even touching an infected individual can be helpful in spreading of this virus so people should avoid meeting those individuals who have been diagnosed of carrying H1N1 virus. In the initial research it was found that the influenza that occurs in pigs of North America was similar to this virus, but with further research it was diagnosed that this flu virus was a combination of bird genes, pig genes and human genes but the intensity of pig genes was dominant over other geneses. Therefore, it was named as swine flu (Bronze & Stuart, 2009).
