When a lady concurs to be pregnant and until birth, carries baby of someone else is termed as Surrogacy. Surrogacy can be of four types: traditional, gestational, altruistic and commercial surrogacy. When surrogate is the mother of the child genetically then such type of surrogacy is termed as traditional surrogacy. The child would have been naturally conceived in the past. But nowadays, through a syringe or a turkey baster, artificial insemination has been used. In Queensland, traditional surrogacy is officially permitted but an IVF clinic will not facilitate it.
