Introduction

The paper aims to emphasize on the causes and reasons regarding the failure of supply chain strategies. Poor benchmarking, lack of motivation to continuously improve, ineffective use of techniques and tools are the major reason for supply chain failures. Moreover, the paper discusses the ways by which supply chain processes are improved and made effective. Problems related to the supply chain can be a constant source of frustration, but undertake a project for each problem will not solve anything (Zsidin, 2001). Management systems for the supply chain are too complex for a disorganized and unfocused approach produces consistent and sustainable results. We must begin by establishing a comprehensive strategy that aligns efforts across the organization and generates solutions.

Supply chain process management involves many issues, including market mapping, distribution strategy, forecasting and production scheduling. These are the integral and inseparable parts of the index of the success of the company. Supply chain management runs through all areas of the company (marketing, R & D, customers) and a painful issue despite its importance for companies. Sustainability in the supply chain can be seen as a desire to limit the waste that a greater or lesser extent in all activities (Piaw, 2002). A particular problem that is worth highlighting is that there may be a waste which - though bad in them - can be good for the involved parties to the agreement. There is therefore reason to distinguish such a waste of waste that is bad for the parties.
