Abstract

Summer enrichment programs are very effective for the academic development of students at the early stage of their learning and development. These programs are mainly required to assist the students with problems in academics and to get admission in higher schools and to apply for higher studies for professional academic career. This requires special assistance and need to deal with the problems faced by the students. Various researches have provided that most of the difficulties are faced by the students of diverse social, cultural and economic background, who belong to different minorities and communities.

This study highlights the need for the summer enrichment program for the students, to assist in their academic development. It also assists these students to overcome their weaknesses in early developmental stage. This study also discuss the researches that highlights the economic burden in order to provide the financial assistance to these communities and then further extends the research to deal with the significance of this program for the students. This is the reason that these programs are not only effective in providing academic assistance, but extracurricular activities and interaction with different communities and other students assist them in developing their personality.

There are a number of different academic programs in order to provide assistance to the students to assist them improve their weak areas of studies. There are a number of programs organized by government and other organizations based on different academic schedule. These programs are very beneficial for most of the students to improve their grades for getting admission in better high school, college or for higher educations. For the convenience of most of the students, there are special programs designed for the summer and winter sessions that assist in getting better results in improvement in difficult areas of studies such as math, science, engineering and for some students with L1 other than English, there are also a number of different language proficiency courses. The main purpose of these programs is to provide better opportunity for the students for higher studies. These programs also assist students to get better results in examinations. These programs and courses are also very beneficial for the students in order to get admission in their desired field of studies and to choose the career they want. These programs are also very effective in developing the confidence and abilities of the students. With the passage of time and considering its effectiveness there have been various measures to increase these programs, but on the other hand, these programs are also resulted as an extra burden on the economic condition of the state, this also leads to the threat for the continuation of these programs for the assistance of the students.
