Question-1

Intrinsic Motivation

Intrinsic motivation is said to be motivation that is internal to an individual and is stimulated due to intangible factors rather than it, being stimulated from external factors. The motivation is said to be stimulated from the degree of satisfaction that exists when it comes to the completion of a particular task or it could also be due to the end results that one has achieved based on the completion of a task.

An individual who is said to be intrinsically motivated will enjoy doing the tasks that are allotted to him. When it comes to coming up with a solution, an individual who is said to be intrinsically motivated will give his or her 100% percent to ensure that the solution to a problem is reached which in turn will be a source of satisfaction for the person. It is a motivation that is said to be steered by the degree of interest that an individual has and exist within an individual. This form of motivation has been studied in the decade of the seventies whereby student who are said to be motivated at an intrinsic level are said to be engage in a task willingly and together work towards building a competency in terms of knowledge, skills and abilities. An individual can become intrinsically motivated via a pat on the shoulder or the publicly being acknowledged and appreciated. An individual is more likely to show the following traits when it comes to being intrinsically motivated.

They try their best to succeed such as educational factor considering that they have a high level of motivation at an intrinsic level.

They endorse the fact that they have the right set of competency which is an efficient and effective agent when it comes to accomplishment of a goal

Individuals are said to be motivated to the extent that they master the topic and it is not confined till achieving good grades solely.

Extrinsic Motivation

Extrinsic motivation is a form of motivation which is directly linked to the performance and is measured by the outcome that is attained. Extrinsic motivation is said to be dependent on external factors and has nothing to do with internal factors such as interest or enjoyment. An individual who is said to be extrinsically motivated is motivated by incentives and rewards rather than a pat on the shoulder or an open appreciation in front of the employees. There needs to be some money involved or a promotion for an individual who is extrinsically motivated to work whole-heartedly. It is the competition or an attainment of a specific designation that charges an individual who is extrinsically motivated via beating others and winning and is least concerned by intrinsic rewards (Ryan & Deci, 2000).
