Introduction

Business is referred as anything that may involve the trading of services, products or both to the customers. Businesses are considered as the major features in the capitalist economies, where majority of them are owned privately and managed in order to get profit (Zaim, et.al., 2007, pp. 5-6). This feature may help the owners of the business or organization to increase and enhance their wealth. Businesses may also be state owned or non-profit. It is often observed that the business which is owned by several individuals is referred as an organization or company. All the individuals and people, who are involved in the business, may play a vital role in the development and growth of business. According to the theory of Checkland, all the activities of people are interrelated with each other (Checkland, 1999, pp. 212-215). It means that all the operations of business are interlinked with each other and the performance of any single individual or any department may affect the entire performance of the business (Akoumianakis, 2009, pp. 202-204).

According to Akoumianakis, the progress and development of business is highly dependent on several features. These features may play a vital role in the progress of business. These efficient and effective features may include knowledge environment/management, communities of practice, SST (soft system thinking) and social capital and intellectual capital.

Collectively all these features may greatly help the businesses and organizations to grow on larger extent. It is a fact that all these features are independent with each other but, collectively the may create an enhanced form of business (Wilson, 2008, pp. 112-115).

The proceeding paper demonstrates about the concept of knowledge management and knowledge management. The impacts of knowledge management/environment, on business are also incorporated in the proceeding paper. (Choo & Bontis, 2002, pp. 405-408).The paper also describes the concept of communities of practice and its impacts on business. The proceeding discussion also incorporates the idea of SST (soft system thinking) and the idea of social capital and intellectual capital. In addition to this, the discussion also incorporates their collective impacts on business or any organization.

Discussion

It is often observed that the growth and development of any organization or business is highly dependent on the strategies and policies which are taken by the owner of the business. According to the theory of Checkland, collectively several things and features are responsible for the creation of any final product. Same strategy or theory is applied on the business. In any organization its intellectual capital, social capital, knowledge environment/management, communities of practice and SST (soft system thinking) play a vital role in the growth and development. Collectively all these features may help the businesses or organizations to grow on a greater extent. All these features are described in the proceeding discussion. The proceeding paper also demonstrates the idea that how all these features collectively help the businesses and organizations.
