In any organization, strategies are designed to make the business more progressive in the competitive market place. These strategies are created on the basis of existing situation of the company and plan for future requirements as they play very important role in setting the organizational goals and helping it in achieving them. The core concept of the role of IT department and its approach to strategic planning is to decide the best plans as well as the best practices to achieve the targeted progress (James,2001,p.91). A very important function of strategies is to gain the maximum income through the previous investments which helps in attaining the targets by focusing on the current environment before identifying new requirements. In order to obtain the entire coverage of the advantages offered by Information System and to prevent the potential failures, the companies should develop the way to adjust Information System as an important area for the execution of strategic management (Hoque, et al.2005, p.13-24).
Strategic Information Systems has always been so focused to the Information System in the business organizations. Planning is considered to be a very crucial competiveness concern as it plays as a very significant role in transforming organizations. Organizations in current situation are facing challenges in influencing investments in information and technology system. An organization is only able to achieve its targets and goals if it recognizes the difference between information system and organizational strategic planning and it can be made successful when the entire staff focused on working together to implement the designing strategies (McNurlin, Sprague & Bui, 2009).
The strategies designed for the progression process of information systems are established to make sure to ensure that technology practices are suitably designed relevant to the developing requirements and strategic plans of the company.Strategic planning of information systems aims to ensure effectively supply of information to SMEs (Ishak & Alias, 2005). Development and employment strategy computer in question are undeniable, despite the different opinions that exist about the content and use of such strategic development plans.Based on the evaluation of current and future role of the function of information ,the support, the factory, massive change or strategic weapon and with planning strategic information system, we can define the fundamental decisions for organize information management (McNurlin Sprague & Bui, 2009) . Information and technology systems highly influence the progress of organizations in the current market place. Controlling the information management is to recognize early enough the failures or problems that arise in the implementation of IT strategy and are responsible for putting in place the necessary corrections (Gutierrez 2009, p.18).
