Executive Summary

The strategic management analysis helps in identifying the specific strategic issues related to a company and the ways in which a company can utilize its strengths and assess the opportunities present for the organization in the industry. This paper deals with the strategic analysis in the theoretical terms and applies those theoretical approaches into practical ways through the strategic analysis of the coca cola company. The paper is divided into six parts.

The first part deals with the theoretical aspects of the strategic management. It defines the strategy and the advantages of design a strategy by an organization. The planning of an organization is dependent upon its strategy and decision making process. A decision making process that incorporates strategy in it becomes a part of the strategic management process. The concept of strategic management purchasing is defined in detail. This particular strategy leads us towards the analysis of a specific industry for which we have done the strategic analysis. Therefore, the industry analysis of the soft drink industry has been defined.

The second part deals with the external assessment of the coca cola company and provides key research and sources that indentify and undertake the strategic analysis of the coca cola company. This section focuses on the SWOT analysis that is the analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats confronted by the company. It also evaluates the PEST analysis which is the analysis of the Political, economical, social and technological aspects of the coca cola company. Finally, the section provides the analysis of the industry on the basis of the five forces of Michael Porter.

The third section examines the importance of leveraging business strengths to capture future opportunities. The examination of the leveraging strength process leads towards the analysis of future opportunities that are present for the coca cola company.

The fourth section describes the strategic management approach for leveraging the business opportunities that helps a company in complying with the strategic management approaches.

The fifth section deals with the findings of the report in context of coca cola's strategic management process and provides recommendations to the company to effectively utilize its resources to expand its market share in those regions where its competitors have dominated the market. The purpose of the paper is to gain familiarity with the strategic management approaches that needs to be incorporated by the companies in effectively designing their production and operations procedures (Marshall, 2005).
