Introduction

In today's businesses, the overall performance of an organization is affected by the right approaches and management of employees (www.aimpapers.com, p. 2). The central aim of Strategic human resource is to develop capabilities of organization by certifying that the organization has the motivated, skilled and committed employees in order to achieve the goals (Anonymous, 2011, p. 1). There are two main objectives of SHRM. The first objective is to integrate the strategies of human resource with the business strategies. The second objective of SHRM is to provide the logical direction so that the business and individual and collective needs of employees can be achieved by the improvement and execution HR polices and practices (Anonymous, 2011, p. 1)

Strategic HRM is an important and essential aspect of every business. It is important for the organizations to ensure that the work that they are doing is in accordance with the needs of the company and that the employees can work in a manner in which the operations of the business can be carried out in a positive manner. In addition to this, there are different ways of managing HRM and to handle the challenges that is faced by the sector.

When employees are motivated they perform their best and shows best results for the customers and if the customers are satisfied with the organization then company will achieve the competitive advantage. Compensation and benefit policies, balance of work life and the steady growth are the key factors that motivate the employees (www.aimpapers.com, p. 3).

Discussion

In the past, Organizations have been guilty of underestimating the significance of the human development function. The changes in the business environment due to factors such as globalization, culturally diverse workforce, technological innovations and the volatile business environment; have caused the organizations to radically change their perspectives. Organizations today, view human resource function as a unique asset which is required to attain a sustained level of competitive advantage. Strategic human management allows an organization to align its employees with the strategic goals. Organizations with strategic human resource management are better able to cope with the business environment and have better financial returns (Huselid & Becker, 1999, p. 361).

Strategic human resource management is an approach to decision making related to the objectives and plans of the organization relating to labor relations, recruitment, talent management, learning and development, performance management, remuneration policies and practices and employee relations. This is an essential component of corporate or business strategy of the organization.

Strategic human resource management concerns the relationship between human resource management and strategic management of the company. Strategic human resource management refers to the general direction of where the organization wants to follow reaching their goals through people.
