Walt Disney has been operating since years. This company established as a cartoon studio in the 1920s by Walt and Roy Disney and currently has been famous for film studio one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Company has been offering a steady improvement in their quality of entertainment and has been known as most diversified international family entertainment and media enterprise across the globe.

Business Segment

Walt Disney has been operating in five different segments.

Media Networks: This segment include different broadcast, radio, cable, publishing as well digital business with the Disney/ABC Television Group and ESPN Inc. Beside this, it focus on other television network as well.

Parks and Resorts: This includes theme parks, cruise line, and other travel-related asset. Hence, it offers one of the best family travel and leisure experiences to people.

Studio Entertainment: This area deals in formulating movies, music, stage plays and other drama plays. There are different name under this segment such as Walt Disney Animation Studios, DreamWorks Studios, Disney Music Publishing etc.

Consumer Products: This segment deals in different products of Walt Disney such as toys and apparel, books and fine art and these has been stated under Licensing, Publishing and Disney Store.

Interactive Media: This deals with offering one of the best emerging digital media platforms to people. The products under this category are blockbuster mobile and console game etc.

Operation of Walt Disney

Walt Disney has been operating under Mass media industry providing Cable television, publishing, movies, theme parks, broadcasting, radio, web portals to their customers and clients. They own and operating different television network as well and had licenses over 14 theme parks across the globe. They have separate music division and hence, when one think of Walt Disney the image that one get their mind is a cartoon character ruling over a mass media industry.

The major SBU of Walt Disney includes Disney Consumer Products, Studio Entertainment, Parks and Resorts, and Media Networks Broadcasting. These have further divided to 28 categories having different brand name. The only things that is common among these entertainment and information. Each activity directly or indirectly provides consumer base entertainment and/or information.

Walt Disney has unique strategy for each of their SBUs. They have been serving particular market efficiently meeting their demand through innovative and creative ideas. In short they provide value to customers. For this company creating value is more important than making money rather according to Walt Disney “We don't make movies to make money, we make money to make more movies”. This is the reason why they have been coming up with new ideas and innovative pattern. Hence, they make money through satisfying people, providing hem entertainment that makes them happy and cheerful.
