Measures of central tendency give quick snapshots of data. Whenever you get a set of data (let's say the number of books that 15 kids read over the summer), that data are called Raw Data. It's just a group of numbers that don't really mean anything until you organize them and interpret meaning from them. We are going to organize and interpret the number of books that 15 kids read over the summer for our first assignment. We'll call each one a case. Each case represents the number of books that one child read.
