Introduction

Normally management creates this document before the initiation of a new design, and it provides a detailed explanation of design requirements. Moreover, throughout the project development process management uses this document as it helps to draft a yardstick for carrying the project forward. If management feels to change the content of statement of requirement then they need to draft a new SOR to indulge new requirements of the plan (Anao, 2010).

In project management, the document of SOR relates with “term of position” as it also explain factors that would be required during the duration of the project. A strong statement of conditions must contain following factors that are project name charter of the project, name of the individual that involve with the design specification of the intent, design short and long-term objectives, cost of project, timeline of completing the design, management plans and procedures, risk associated with the project

Success of the project depends upon proper drafting of statement of requirement document as it explains potential outcome and capacity of the project. The elements incorporated in the statement assess the management in formulating an appropriate framework for the completion of the project. In addition, enable them to analyze the effectiveness of elements used for the project development on a timely basis. (Pearce et al, 2008) Further explains that requirement statement explains the desire of change, steps using which desire change in achieved, and results explaining the value of the plan.
