Abstract

The paper is intended to focus on the Child Poverty in the United States of America. The research paper will identify the key issues of the child poverty in the development of children mental and physical health. The research and information is essential to understand the eruption of this issue which has become a leading social disease to spoil the nation.

The statistical report provides the collection of key child data that shows the shocking numbers of children at risk factors. The amount of poor children has enhanced by 2.5 million since the year of 2000 to 14.1 million. Almost half of children are surviving in extreme poverty, and around 8.1 million children lack the coverage of health facilities during the period of recession.

It should be observed that U.S is a state of 406 billionaires and has innumerable millionaires, but regularly a child is born in poverty after every 32 seconds which is estimated at 2,692 each day. Children are the most hapless age group in America and around every 5th child belongs to poor family. It has been noticed that one in twelve children stays in severe poverty in United States. The gap between poor and rich holds ever highest record in the United States. In 2006, the richest 10% of households with children gained 38% income of the nation which is the highest amount in three decades, while the bottom 20% received only 5% income of the nation. Poverty can be reduced for less than 140 billion dollars and all children's families can decrease the poverty of that half amount.

Terminating poverty is a vital pace to dismantling the cradle to prison pipeline. In the year of 2008, the recession was started around 14.1 million children were poor, an increase of 2.5 million children. Around more than 5.6 million children are in households covering the layer of poverty. Among the years of 2000 and 2008, Children in severe poverty are raised by 1.6 million.
