Introduction

In my personal opinion, democracy is the most excellent form of government. However, unluckily, it does not look as if it is working very fine at present. It was formed to permit the general public to rule, and is founded on checks and balances system to avoid a loss in their power. But the public seems to have a very slight control over the officials who are elected and making pitiable decisions that drag the nation down.

Thesis Statement

The US is in a state of decline, and the government is taking very little actions to end this. The circumstances that already subsist are challenging while the US government is forming new impediments.

Discussion

A very old issue that the people of the United States have been facing for a while is the Social Security. The major issue is that excessive money is being spent in the name of Social Security. Though, Social Security was an outstanding plan when it was formed. But, the populace lives for an extended period due to the new treatments and medicines which compel Social Security to disburse longer (Lowery, 2010). The Social Security now also has to pay for additional citizens since a number of those who would have passed away before getting their money can now stay alive way more than that age. Enumerating to their spending, the Social Security is not earning enough to meet the expenses. They receive a tax percentage of 6.2% from the income of the citizens. In addition to this, they also charge 6.2% per employer (John, 2012). Though, that is a soaring total, it is not adequate. Soon the Social Security will be bankrupt. A number of citizens who invested in this program will never be able to attain the reimbursements. Would anybody like to have capital they made taken and conferred to others but in no way get anything? It is nonsensically unjust and therefore in my opinion disbursing for Social Security should be not obligatory, or else Social Security ought to be ended entirely.

Another big issue faced by the government of United States is the economic adversity on an extent very few countries have ever gone through. Majority of the citizens are ignorant of the easily visible signs of this disaster, where it arrived from and how to end it. As we carry on with our superpower mentality, we indeed have silently turned into a second class country in a number of respects. Now, we are not producing what we require to uphold ourselves, we are now importing pretty much more than we are exporting, and in addition to this, we are trading our resources and taking on huge debts to maintain a living standard that we cannot afford any more.
