Question 1

Charity Prosser & Jamel Foster two narcotic detectives were associated with a program of rehabilitating 8 low level drug dealers in normal life by providing them education and job training so that those drug dealers could leave a normal life. This was a life changing experience for both of them, as the purpose or passion that drives them on this job is chasing and bringing down the drug dealers. In fact, in the documentary, Charity Prosser claims that she considers her day complete when she with her team arrest drug dealers. Initially chasing drug dealers and bringing them down, was the passion driving the two detectives for the job.

However, when both of the detectives were assigned to monitor the program of rehabilitating those 8 low level drug dealers, their perspective have changed completely (The Crime Report, 2013). They changed their perspectives and become very much attached with the people and now changing their lives have become their priority. They become emotionally attached, which in fact drive them to put these low level drug dealers to rehabilitate. The detectives were initially not much concerned about what may happen, but since they have been given charge to live with them, they now are caring for them as their family. The detectives do not want them to see got hurt, in fact they realize the motto which forces them to do this business. My opinion regarding the program also altered due to the fact that people choose to become drug dealers, because they are not given any employment, neither they have any other source of income. So instead of living in poverty all over their life, they choose the way of crime.
